Minutes from the Delaware Artist Guild Meeting, September 25, 2017

This month’s meeting was held at the Ross Gallery. The meeting was opened by our new President, Sharon Gayhart who introduced herself and our new Treasurer, Carolyn Jones. Carolyn noted that our current bank balance is $176.61. She passed out a membership form and asked that members fill it out and return it to her with their dues to as soon as possible.

Sharon led a discussion on ways to build our membership by getting the word out to artists who want to improve their skills and others who just have an interest in art. More discussion will follow at future meetings.
Lynda Elias shared information about speakers lined up for the coming year. John Quick has invited us to his studio in October to watch the firing of some sculpture pieces he is working on with his classes.  November’s speaker will be the featured artist at Gallery 22. Kris Kolb agreed to post the list of upcoming speakers on our web site as they are firmed up.

Ray Wollscheger invited members to participate in the Art happening at Boardman Park this coming weekend from 9:00 to 3:00. Artists are encouraged to help beautify the park by doing artwork on panels to hang on the fences surrounding the park. Supplies and refreshments are provided by the sponsors (Northwest Neighborhood). More information will be on our website.

Since there was no new business, Sharon closed the meeting and introduced our speaker, Erin Fletcher who updated us on her role at the Ross and gave us an overview of some of the activities planned for this school year.

Respectfully submitted,
Virginia Corwin, Secretary
