Minutes for the Delaware Artist Guild Meeting on September 21, 2015
This month’s meeting was held at Gallery 22 to allow members to see the exhibit of horse photography currently on display and hear a presentation from Deb Little, one of the photographers.  President Kris Kolb opened the meeting with an invitation for members to partake of refreshments and to sign up to bring them to future meetings.   She also invited visitors to introduce themselves and share their interests.  Members were encouraged to reach out to former members to invite them to return.

Kris reviewed the current slate of officers:  Kris Kolb, President, Rhainy Edwards, Vice President, Virginia Corwin, Secretary and Ray Wollschleger, Treasurer.  The motion to accept the slate of officers was made by Tom Conrad, seconded by Lynda Elias and passed by vote.

Kris mentioned that Restoration Brew Worx is interested in having artists show works at their establishment.  Since the owner wants to see the artist’s work first and then sign a contract, each individual needs to make this contact on their own.

Lynda Elias set the date for changing art work at the YMCA for Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 10:00.  She invited new members to bring work and contact her if they cannot bring it to the Y.She invited all members to submit 4 x 6 original art pieces to the upcoming Postcard Show at the Art Castle.  They will be donated and then sold as a fund-raiser for the Art Castle.   The show will run from Nov. 30 to Jan. 15, 2016.  There will be a preview sale on Dec. 4.  Post cards need to be in to the Art Castle by Nov. 1.  She also invited members to come to her post card class on this coming Saturday at the castle.

Lynda reviewed the list of speakers for the coming year.  They will be posted to the web for reference.  Members were reminded of the guild art show from April 17 – May 25.  The reception will be April 17 from 2-4.

Diane Hodges encouraged members to become involved in the Castle Arts Affair from November 5 – 8 by submitting work or by volunteering to assist.  She also invited members to the Second Saturday Word and Wine sharing at Gallery 22 from 7 – 8:30.  Currently An Equine Jubilee: Celebrating the Horse in Art is at the Arts Castle from August 31 to Oct. 16. with 87 pieces of  horse related art.

Since there was no new business, Kris adjourned the meeting and Pat Getha introduced Deb Little who shared her photography of wild horses.

Respectfully submitted,
Virginia Corwin, Secretary
