Minutes for the Delaware Artist Guild Meeting, October 23, 2011
President Lindsay Criswell opened the meeting with a welcome and introduction of new member.  She reported that September minutes should be on the web site soon.  There was no Treasury report because Mike Palmer is unable to attend.  Pat Getha will be stepping down as Membership Chair and Mike has agreed to take over the role.

Old Business

  • Members were encouraged to continue supporting the Arts Castle in whatever way they can.
  • Yearly dues are $20.00 and should be turned in to Lindsay or Mike as soon as possible.
  • Lynda Elias reminded members of the upcoming Library exhibit and asked that they bring their work to the library on Nov. 1 or get it to her so it can be hung.  More information is on the web site.
  • Lynda also reported on the artist space at the new YMCA.  Our space is very large and tall so members are encouraged to create large works to be displayed there.  The Y will be opening in December so work needs to be ready then.

New Business:

Lindsay spoke to the Marion Guild as an artist and came back with a proposal that we look at a variety of ways to make our critique days more helpful and enjoyable.  It was suggested that we partner with the Arts Castle for this and other workshops.  Please send your ideas to Lindsay and she will follow up.
Mary Williams reminded the members that Marlene Hitchcock lost her mother and Sharon Aboud passed away recently.

There was no additional business so Lindsay closed the meeting and introduced our guest speakers, Mary Williams and Kris and Richard Kolb who explained their collaboration to create photo art quilts.

Respectfully submitted,
Virginia Corwin, Secretary
