Minutes for the Delaware Artist Guild Meeting, Feb. 25, 2013

This month’s meeting was held at the Ross Gallery.  President Lori Palmer opened the meeting with a welcome to new members and guests.  She reminded members that the minutes are posted on the website.  Mike Palmer reported that there was $522.67 in the Treasury and 30 active members enrolled.   Items for the newsletter should be submitted to Kris Kolb by the 15th of the month.
Lynda Elias asked for feedback from members for a date to change the exhibit at the YMCA. It was agreed to make the change in March.  She will choose a date and email the information to members.  She asked that members let her know what they are bringing and to be sure and put a wire in the back of the item.   She also shared that Paul Weber from the Y wants to hold a reception sometime soon.  It was decided to hold it on a Sunday afternoon in June.

New Business:
The dates for the DAG show at the Arts Castle are April 16th to May 24th.  Take-in dates are Sunday, April 14 from 1-3:00 and Monday, April 15th from 4-6:00.  Volunteers are needed for both dates.  The exhibit will go up Tuesday, April 16th.  Lynda needs volunteers to help.  The opening reception will be Sunday, April 21 from 2-4:00.  Everyone is asked to bring a finger food.  Lori will be out of town from April 9 to 19 so needs to get things done early.  She will order the ribbons.  Lynda will choose a judge and send out enrollment forms on email.  Lori sent around a list so members could sign up for committees.   Additional information will be posted on the website.

Lori reserved our booth for the Arts Festival (May 18 & 19).  Mike Palmer and Tom Conrad agreed to be chairpersons for the event.
The speaker for the March 25th meeting will be Brooke Hunter-Lombardi, a printmaking artist.  We will be meeting at the library at 7:30.

The speaker for April 22 will be Helen Hoffelt, a professor at CCAD.  She will be discussing the concepts behind her digital photography.  Because of a schedule conflict, WE WILL MEET AT THE ARTS CASTLE at 7:30.

The City Arts Center is hosting an exhibit from March 1-30 of the art of seven members of the Northwest Neighborhood Association.  The opening is Friday, March 1  from 6-9 and several of our members are part of that group.

Since there was no new business, Lori closed the meeting.   Richard Kolb then introduced our speaker, Justin Kronwetter, who shared information about the permanent art collection at Ohio Wesleyan.

Respectfully submitted,
Virginia Corwin, Secretary
