Minutes from the Delaware Artist Guild meeting on April 27, 2015

This month’s meeting was held at Gallery 22 to take advantage of the show Landscapes of Ohio by Frank Hobbs, who is today’s speaker.  President Ken Hildebrand opened the meeting with a welcome to members and guests. There were no additions or corrections to the minutes so they stand as read. Mike Palmer reported that the treasury contains $327.03. There was nothing shared from the Newsletter.

Mike went over information for the Arts Festival Booth on May 16 and 17. He and Tom Conrad will put up and take down the tent. He will also pick up screens from Jon Scott at Hayes. Lynda will provide hooks. Members may drop off their work around 8:30 a.m. and pick it up at the end. The guild gets 10% of the profits from sales.  Members were asked to sign up for times and dates to sit in the booth.

Lynda Elias gave an update on the DAG show at the Arts Castle. Drop-off will be May 19 from 3 - 5 and on May 20 from 5 - 7. Work will be put up on the 28 and the reception will be Sunday, May 31 at 2:00. Tom Conrad motioned to change the fee to $15.00 for 1, 2, or 3 pieces (3 max.) Lynda seconded the motion. Cash prizes will stay the same. Kris Kolb will order the ribbons.

Lynda shared information about the Post Card show to be held at the Arts Castle in November. She passed out basic information and invited guild members to participate. They can send their post cards to her whenever they have completed them.

Diane Hodges mentioned a Hot Times exhibit to be held at Gallery 22 from June 5 to Aug 22. Artists were invited to provide work on the topic. The reception will be June 5 on First Friday.

Ken shared more information about the Big Local Tent at the Columbus Arts Festival and invited members to submit work individually. There is no fee and the commission is only 10% of sales.

Ken encouraged members to look for officers for next month’s meeting.  He will be stepping down as President but will take over as Vice-President.  Virginia agreed to remain as Secretary, but Mike Palmer will give up his Treasurer’s role.  Anyone interested should contact Ken ASAP.

Since there was no other business, the meeting was adjourned and Lynda introduced Frank Hobbs, our speaker for the evening.

Respectfully submitted,
Virginia Corwin, Secretary
