Minutes for the Delaware Artists Guild Meeting, February 24, 2014

The meeting began at 7:30 pm in the basement of the Richard M. Ross Art Museum with 14 members present. Since Secretary, Virginia Corwin, and Exhibit Chair, Lynda Elias, were absent, Ken Hildebrand opened the meeting with informal discussion of the planned Carriage House Hop presented in the February Newsletter. When it seemed clear Virginia and Lynda would not be joining us, Ken agreed to provide minutes and resumed normal order reflected here.

President: Ken Hildebrand welcomed the members. There were no guests present.

Secretary: Virginia Corwin, absent
There was no business meeting in December or January. The minutes for the November meeting posted on the web site were approved without correction. 

Treasurer/Membership: Mike Palmer

  • Current Balance $449.91
  • Major Expenditure $100.00 for 1 year Web Site Hosting  
  • Mike indicated funds should be sufficient to cover planned expenses.
  • Current Membership 32  (One new member Steve Roseberry)

Mary Williams has assembled a new Membership Brochure. Anyone able to distribute it where artists gather should contact Mike for copies.

Mike has reserved (free) space for a DAG booth at the Delaware Arts Festival, May 17 &18. He will coordinate setup and staffing over the next several months.

Newsletter: Kris Kolb
Kris, Pat Silleck, and Ray Wollschleger, Northwest Neighborhood Association, outlined the planned Carriage House Hop presented in the February Newsletter.

  • Saturday May 17, 1-5 pm during Arts Festival and DAG Arts Castle Show
  • DAG members can show in Pat’s carriage house, Elizabeth St.
    • Signup Sheets for small pieces( up to 12” on tables), large pieces (up to 20” on walls)
  • Opportunity for cross-promotion with Arts Castle, DAG Show, and DAG Festival booth
  • Continue planning at March meeting

Pat Silleck reminded members of the “Our Home Town” show at the High Road Gallery in April.
There being no additional new business, the meeting was adjourned to the museum gallery where Justin Kronwetter, Director of the Ross Museum, presented the “New Art / New Mexico‘ exhibit.
