Delaware Artists Guild Logo

The Delaware Artist’s Guild (DAG) is diverse group of over 50 artists and art enthusiasts. Founded in 1975, the DAG has continued a mission to provide information and encouragement to artists in the area. The DAG does this with monthly meetings which feature visiting artists, hosting educational workshops, travel opportunities to regional museums, and by sponsoring opportunities for members to exhibit their work.

We encourage visitors to check out our website, events, and exhibits. We also would like to extend the invitation for you to sit in on a meeting of your choice. You do not have to be a member to attend these functions. However, we are always looking for new members. The DAG welcomes beginners, professionals, business owners, or just fans of art to become apart of our guild. Please click on our membership page to learn more about the people that make up this amazing group, and what benefits you gain when you become a member. Thanks for visiting with us! Come back soon!

It sounds like DAG is set to have an exciting season!  DAG has wonderful speakers and opportunities for the members, and I have seen that the members care deeply about keeping it going.

If any members are interested, Barley Hopsters’ hosts a Drink and Draw the 2nd Sunday of the month from 2:00 to 5:00, any art level welcome, drinking not required, just draw and have a good time.

Also, Inktober is just around the corner, if anyone is interested in participating and following along on Instagram, and other social media. There are prompts for drawing something each day in October. It’s nice if you like having a daily challenge to keep you motivated and making something every day.

Also in October, the Sktchy app has a class with France Belville Van Stone, part of their series called Portraits in Procreate. She has a book titled Sketch, and has great tips for drawing portraits in general, as well as using Procreate on your iPad as a sketchbook. I don’t know if anyone in the group has tried draw digitally. I love traditional materials, but the effects of watercolor, gouache and oils in Procreate is amazing, and it’s nice to be mobile and not carry supplies.

This year, I am the Den Leader for my grandson's cub scout pack, and the meetings are on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30, and usually run a little over. I am really enjoying these activities with my grandsons. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the DAG meetings.

I hope DAG continues to grow and be a resource for Delaware Artists.
